I promised
aredwitch weeks ago that I would post pictures of my garden. So here they are. I'll update this with Part 2 as the veggies start to grow. I already have baby tomatoes and peppers.
The posts in the middle are to hold up the tomato plants as they grow.
My husband angles them outward and then the weight of the tomatoes pulls them straight as they get heavy.
We learned to do this the hard way after having our tomato trellis nearly collapse a few summer ago.
The sugar peas on the right have turned yellow now, so I'm planting something else there.
They can't survive the ninety-degree weather.
and they've been growing since back in January.
Sad Last Days of the Sugar Peas
Cucumber Vines
These are black-eyed peas which grow like beans.
I used to grow them on a fence, but the weeds are too hard to handle by August, so I grow them up poles and strings.
Bloomin' Onions.
My red, white, and bluish-purple flowers.
Red Salvia and Petunias.
To the Left is Rosemary, To the Right is Peppermint.
Potato Plants surrounded by weeds.
My husband just mows around these beds.
A Lonely Sweet Potato Plant.
This is an experiment, as I've never grown them before.
Flower on my humongous Elderberry Bush.
This thing is a butterfly and bird magnet.
The birds literally get drunk on the berries - especially Thrashers and Robins.
