Don't be alarmed ~ this is still Rattlesnake Central!
I've just redecorated the place a little.
One of my New Year's Resolutions was to figure out a new Header for my LJ, and I've been researching how to do it. I've also had that picture saved for literally years now, so it seemed like a good time to try it.
Let me know how this looks on your computer. I realize the margins may be too wide for some people, but I hope this doesn't cause any problems. I wanted to keep the rest of the layout the same, and I was worried about how the titles would look and everything. I've read alot of horror stories about messed up Headers, and I am HTML challenged on a good day, so this is a huge step for me.
For those interested in how I did it:
Somehow I got lucky and did it right on the first try!!!
I used
This Tutorial for Expressive and Mixit lay-outs, which is the custom look I had before. Different people have different layouts, so search for tutorial for the type of layout you want.
Following the instructions there, I loaded my picture to Photobucket. It is 720 x 360 pixels.
Go to
Customize Journal Style Then in the left-hand menu click
Custom CSS and paste this code exactly into the Custom Stylesheet box - after you add your own picture URL in the place of mine. Don't leave any spaces or move the parentheses or anything. That's what causes trouble.
#header-inner {
background: url(
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v624/sip44/Snape/snape-class-1.jpg) right top no-repeat;
}
#header, #header-content {
background-image: none;
}
That's all folks!!! I don't know how to do anything else with my pages, but this is all I wanted and I'm very happy!
