I could write about alot of heavy stuff that is happening in the U.S. and the fact that the next week may be one of the most anxious in American history.
I could write about racist hoaxes, idiotic and insulting interviews from wingnut reporters who are Fox News wannabes. Or how about a $150,000 wardrobe from Neiman Marcus (Needless Mark-Ups)?

biased as it may be, it pretty much sums up the facts.
about Ohio,
think the candidates make so much efford about that state,
because during the Kerry - Bush elections, it was expected to go to Kerry, but it went to Bush and after that the polls started slipping from Kerry's hands.
think it's results tend to influence the voters in the swingstates that open and close later on the day, voters that lean to the candidate that lost Ohio, then may decide the race is run and vote for the one that won Ohio.
when this is complete bollocks, please correct me
I picked up this wisdom from a very old Kennedy docu.

Yes - you've got it right.
Ohio is in the Eastern U.S. and the polls closed early.
There were definitely some strange things about the voting machines there, but Kerry conceded without a fight, and then he disappeared from the public for months. He was a bad candidate.
However, there was an investigation that went on for weeks after that, which I followed in the news. It was a disappointing end to that election, but now I'm almost glad Kerry didn't get elected. It's just made the Democrats even more vigilant and determined that this time no one is going to steal an election. They are certainly trying to suppress the Dem vote in places like Wisconsin and Georgia, but so far the courts have thrown out all the attempts.

The news here also goes on and on about Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. I guess I shouldn't make it sound as if Ohio is the only state that gets all the attention.

As for PA, every election I have voted in, the candidate won here (primaries included). So, I know how to pick 'em! No worries here. I'll actually be in Ohio tomorrow (non-politically related), so I'll see what I can do to sway things. =)

My husband loves all these humorous videos, but he thought the last part of each of these was not really that funny.
I've enjoyed Saturday Night Live, but the fact that everything can be parodied almost word from word from real life is a sign of how whacko everything is this time.
Yes, do what you can for Ohio! And I am counting on you folks in Pennsylvania - so let's make this an early night next Tuesday!

I'm fine - just busy these days online and in real life! :) But I'm still here. I need to take an hour and go read your blog, because I'm sure I've missed alot - sorry about that!
After the election, when I can calm down, I'm sure I'll get back to the Harry Potter world. Actually, I'm there every day, but I've been playing a game (Snape for Minister) on CoS forum instead of HPN, so I've really neglected them and need to get back.

I loved the two videos.

Glad you like the videos - me too. And we all need a laugh!
I agree about the polls - I love them and hate them. I keep thinking "What If" Obama and his team were spending that as much in Tennessee as they are in Ohio or Virginia? But except for coming to Nashville for the debate, we have been ignored as a lost cause, and that's not fair. The Obama people keep sending me e-mails to go and drum up votes in North Carolina, and I keep wishing they would work that hard in TN (which locally they are, but not out in the country places).
I heard a rumor that in Middle Tennessee the vote was tied between McCain and Obama, and if you add Memphis to that, then all McCain has is East Tennessee, which is Bush/Dole/Reagan country. Our attorney general has a map of early voting numbers for each county, and so far almost a million people in TN have voted early.
983,784 early voters total
http://www.tennessee.gov/sos/election/Early%20Voting%20Nov%202008.pdfThat is a huge humber, and voting is heavy in the cities. But I noticed that early ( ... )

That must be 'the REAL Tennesee.' :p
Loved the videos!

That term "Real" makes me want to scream! *lol*
I thought "Real Tennessee" was any place you could see a house with a fishing boat, a stack of firewood, and a super deluxe lawn tractor outside. *ha* Or anyplace with a "Go Big Orange" flag on the mailbox.
But really - I'm actually an Anti-American Communist Marxist Socialist Hillbilly. And that's why I don't fit in with the real Americans in my community.
What really gets me about that type of thinking is that most of us have at least one ancestor who fought in at least one war for the U.S. And "new" Americans who just became citizens are just as "real" as people whose families came here from Scotland before the Revolution!
