Reminds Me of HP: Animated Star Trek: "Yesteryear"

Star Trek animated episode "Yesteryear" compared to Prisoner of Azkaban and Order of the Phoenix.

I've always been a Trekkie, and I also loved the animated Star Trek series which was on Saturday mornings when I was a child. One of the best episodes ever was "Yesteryear," a spin-off of the original episode "City on the Edge of Forever" both concerning Time Travel and changing the past. The plot of "Yesteryear" s that Spock and Kirk have gone back through an archway called the "Guardian of Forever." The Guardian resembles the "Veil" in the Department of Mysteries, but works alot like the Pensieve - it can show the past of any civilization.

When Spock returns from a trip through the Guardian, no one recognizes him except Kirk, and he realizes his past has changed. So he uses the Guardian to return to his childhood to save his younger self from death. It resembles Prisoner of Azkaban, with the Time Turner that is used to go back and save Sirius Black and Buckbeak from death. Indeed, it even has the theme of "pets" being sacrificed, with a fight by two creatures amazingly similar to the werewolf and the "bear-like dog." Young Spock also runs into a strangly familiar plant, much like the Venomous Tentacula in Book/Movie One. Before that, there is also the bullying scene, alot like Snape's Worst Memory, in which "Half-Blood" Spock is pushed around by some Pureblood kids and told that he'll never be worthy.

Video: Spock goes back in time to save his younger self, and tries to save his pet.
