I wonder how long it will be before the porn community lanches its "Fantastic Breast and Where to Find Them?" Sorry, but I couldn't resist. We all know it's coming.

JKR has always liked her "shades of grey." LOL

The most interesting thing to me about this is that of all the aspects of the HP universe she could choose to write, she's only been interested in Newt Scamander? Maybe that's because it's not fleshed out at all right now, while a lot of the other aspects of the story that interest the fans have at least have a rough outline?

Yeah, that puzzles me too. I guess she has backstory in her head that she hasn't shared about his adventures. I can easily see this forming a new series considering how many Fantastic Beasts there are in the book.

I hope that Rowling retains creative power over the making of the movie since WB clearly weren't satisfied with making double from DH and are hungry for more instant profit.

I trust her to write a good story - script writing is different, but I don't doubt she'll be given all the professional help she wants.

it will be filled with laws and customs of a hidden magical society that will be familiar to fans of the books and movies.
I'm thinking she deliberately chose to portray the American Wizarding World so she can make it into a sort of British Wizarding World 1.2 - an improved version with fewer inconsistencies.

Yes, you may be right about the American connection. I know she has mentioned before that she loves NY City.

I may be wrong but I believe WB owns the rights to all the HP books including Fantastic Beasts so they get most of the creative control.
