From Guardian UK:Rowling said of today's announcement: Although I've enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series … The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry's success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life.
Will an "adult" novel be any good? Who knows! But it's fun to read all the online comments:
Nice analysis from
Percontation Points on tumblr...the response seems to be falling into a few major categories:
* Type I) People who are practically foaming at the mouth/in the brain with excitment.
* Type II) People who are expecting to like it just fine, but are already disappointed that it’s not more Harry Potter.
* Type III) This is exactly what I wanted from JK. This has more potential than any Harry Potter sequel, prequel, or in-between-quel could ever have. All is well in the literary world.
