Sydney Morning Herald concerning the past movie year and the Oscar Buzz surrounding Alan Rickman:
The Harry Potter franchise came to an end in fine style, with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 topping the box office worldwide and providing a suitably action-packed and intense farewell to 10 years of spells, potions and destiny. Alan Rickman was, once again, a standout as Harry's nemesis, Professor Snape. All the Oscar talk these days focuses on Meryl Streep and The Iron Lady but Rickman is the one who should by rights be an Academy Award shoo-in.
