Can Everyone Feel the Snape Love? This is what we've been missing since 2007!

Severus Snape is quite probably the most noble of all the characters in the Potterverse. Sure, he's a sardonic, foul-tempered man who seems to be an adversary more often than he is an ally, but as we learn in retrospect there is a reason for it all. How many people in the franchise are willing to put themselves in the kinds of danger that Snape is for the cause? Snape willingly walks into the viper's den on multiple occasions, and he does so for one reason: because he must. He may not like Harry Potter. In fact, I would say it's fair to say that he loathes Harry, who is a reminder that James Potter ended up with Lily and not him. But loathe him or not, he is willing to die for him because it's the right thing to do. And all that aside, he's just the coolest character in the franchise. Alan Rickman plays him to perfection, with dripping venom in his tone and a cold, callous demeanor. It was very close for me between #1 and #2, but the Slytherin head gets the edge.

411mania: Snape Wins Top Harry Potter Teacher And Severus Snape is revealed as the most loyal, truest and bravest of them all.
For me, Snape is undoubtedly the most intriguing character. He is the silent strength, Dumbledore’s true ally and confidante and ultimately, the backbone on which the entire plot hangs. Snape’s willingness to sacrifice himself for true love proves him to be perhaps the greatest hero of a series filled with heroes.

Jewish Journal The Potion Master is, however, the real inspiration that pushes Harry to confront what he (and we) has been waiting to confront since Book 1, in 1997, or since the first movie, in 2001. They shouldn't make a film about the life of JK Rowling (which they're making); they should instead make another film entirely about Severus Snape.

Bangkok Post Snape's secret is as shocking as Darth Vader revealing he is Luke's father! Snape effectively became a stand in for Harry's father, to protect Harry for the sake of Harry's mother Lilly, the love of Snape's life.
