This is a review round-up of glowing praise for Snape as well as Alan Rickman's performance!

Speaking of Snape (who has been recently selected by the readership of two film magazines as the best character in the entire saga) - if you've read the books, you'd know that this is his hour, the moment of the great revelations. And if you asked for more Alan Rickman in films one to seven, you'll finally get what you really deserve. Without revealing any spoilers, I'd only say that the Moment is truly emotional... The Internet has already launched a campaign for the great actor to get an Oscar nod, so be sure to join the league as well.

Alexandra in yantk on Blogspot (Bulgarian) Unexpected heroes emerge, and there are some heartbreaking character developments that will leave you wishing there were going to be prequels, or at least spinoff tales that fill in the lives of supporting characters whom we are only now getting to know.

io9.com Distinguished Thespian Alert: Although no actor has received an Oscar nomination for the Potter films, "Deathly Hallows" features a standout, tear-jerking performance by Alan Rickman, who transforms perfectly from the perpetually sneering "greasy-haired git" to the Severus Snape who can make us cry with just three little words: "Look at me."

NextMovie.co ...one major supporting character gets his moment to shine (no spoilers, for the two of you who don't know), and it's easily the best, most emotionally devastating scene in the picture. If Warner is willing to spend the money, 'you know who' (no, not THAT 'you know who') could end up with his first Oscar nomination.

Huffington Post ...When a major character is killed by Voldemort, the way the scene is shot, we mostly only hear it and see it through a clouded glass window. It's both daring and much more effective than had we seen the killing outright. And the scene when we see Snape's life through his tears in the pensive is exactly as heartbreaking as it should be.

After Elton But of all the things that could have gone wrong, the one that had us most concerned was how it was going to handle Severus Snape. In the first seven movies, Snape never really got his fair share of attention from the camera despite the fact (and it is totally a fact) that he ends up being one of the best, if not the best, character of the whole bunch in the long run. But thankfully, we can rest easy on this one. Not only does Snape get the due he deserves, Alan Rickman absolutely steals the freakin' show when he channels his inner Hans Gruber during Snape's tenure as Hogwarts Headmaster along with a heartbreaking, albeit much too brief, performance during a pivotal moment in his character arc when you realize that he might just be even more awesome than Dumbledore. Part of it is the stellar way that Rowling wrote Snape to begin with, but Rickman delivers like he's never delivered before, single-handedly raising the bar for the entire cast. Are you paying attention, Academy voters?
