Several new official posters have been released in the past few days: Draco, Neville, Voldemort, and the Trio. Rumor has it that the next one might be Snape, so I'll give that it's own post when we get it.

but I don't agree with him as the abusive father.
alway thought Lucius a demanding father, very highstrung about status and prestice, who did not beat obedience into his son, but neither showed much warmth for the needy child. In stead of covering the child in hugs he covered him in toys, it's much easier to buy off your emotion then showing it.

I agree with that because I never saw Lucius as an abuser, but as an indulgent father and Narcissa as a mother who spoiled her only child - much more like the Dursleys than anyone else.
I think they probably let Draco pick on Dobby, just as Dudley picked on Harry.

Could be the model for the Malfoy's situation but those would never let their emotions go like Vernon does - he cuddles Dudley when the kid is nasty or Petunia - she weeps about how sweet and good the little piglet is.
Stiff upper lip, Always in control, Don't let your guard down.... the archetypical aristocratic Old England.

I always saw Lucius (and Narcissa, for that matter) as the stereotypical Victorian parents -- the Lucius aloof and somewhat unapproachable, but still interested in Draco and loving him in a decorous manner, Narcissa much more approachable and involved up to Draco leaving for Hogwarts.
In fact, it seems all the Wizarding World is somewhat stuck in Victorian modes of behavior and dress, certainly, and some of the attitudes.

That's my visualisation too, otherwise I get images of a dresscode like Mickey Mouse wears as the sorcerer's apprentice.
Oh Horror.
