Some people
would ask us to compare Snape's life to a bad Charles Bronson Movie, and the "Snapefen" to Harlequin romance novelists who are rewriting the books to suit themselves.
Well, whatever. JKR wrote his character the way he appears on the page, for those sharp enough to read and understand.
So yeah, people can carp about the "Sneepfeinds" or whatever till they turn die of "Fen Stress," but here's my advice: instead of watching crap movies and reading crap fan fic, why don't you go find some of Snape's real counterparts in literature and film. There are lots of them, really there are! He did not just spring fully-formed out of JKR's imagination - she didn't create him in a vacuum.
So for the next five or six days (or until I get tired of it) this "Fen Fiend" is going to post videos of the characters that remind me of how heroic and loving Snape was, and how he was redeemed, and how he sacrificed his life for others. Let's start with Sidney Carton, tragic hero of Charles Dickens' A Tale of Two Cities.
