We went out furniture-hunting today. We actually found a couple of different couches that we'd have been happy to snag for our very own, but since we were walking, we couldn't. There's no way I'm carrying a queen-sized sofa-sleeper 8 blocks! No way. Nuh-uh. So we wandered all the way down to South Lucas, where our friends Ryan and Adam used to live, and around to South Dodge, when Lo and Behold, we saw a fainting couch!! >.< LMAO!! Well, as we were looking at it, wondering if it was actually being offered away (it wasn't out on the curb, like most "free" furniture; it was sitting on the walkway in front of the apartment), the owner of said couch pulled up in his car and said, "If you want it, it's yours!" So we grabbed it. It was light, thank god, but still really bulky to try to carry 11 blocks. We took several breaks, and had a couple of little tiffs (only natural when two people try to carry a bulky, oddly-shaped piece of furniture 11 blocks in 89-degree heat, I suppose), and made it home in one piece!
It doesn't quite fit in with our existing decor, but it's extra seating. We'll make it fit in eventually :)
I'm starting to do all the things I'd hoped to be able to do once we got home internet: for instance, I'm making dinner tonight from a recipe off
AllRecipes.com! Also posting LJ updates almost as soon as I think of them. Updating music files....doing searches for things that pop into my head (oh thank goodness we can do spontaneous searches again!!!!), checking out interesting websites the instant we first read about them....all sorts of wonderful things!
..don't worry, I'll get over it eventually. It only took me two weeks to get used to the
hair!
