AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....after two weeks of crappy, windy, rainy, snowy, icy, COLD weather...on top of the Great Midterm Library Rush...this week is the definition of Spring Break! The students are gone and the weather is friggin' GORGEOUS!!! It's in the 60's right now, as it will be tomorrow, and then the temp takes a little dip back down into the 40's for the rest of the week. That doesn't bother me, though, because at least it's not in the 20's again! Still, it's the first real "Hey! Spring!" sign, and I'm relishing it. The faster spring officially gets here, the happier I'll be.
...okay, so I know Spring can't actually "officially" get here any faster than the days allow, since it's always on the same stupid day. But you know what I mean. :P Nyahhh....
Tomorrow is going to be a nice little busy day, especially for a day off! Spring Break caused Corporate to cut the crap out of our hours this week, so the three managerial types (Me, the boss, and Judgy, our other Sales Manager) took some time off so the other folks could get their needed hours. Tomorrow is my chosen sacrificial day, and I was originally planning on having a nice, leisurely day off. Then I got a call from
rosngil, asking if I'd be able to get together to go check out her wedding and reception sites to count up how many flowers we're going to need. Groovy! I'd been worried that she'd forgotten about me. :) hehe. So we're getting together at 1. Then, since Copyworks didn't have the vellum on hand to print out our invitations when we stopped by there last Thursday, I'm going to check with them after I'm done tallying flowers...hopefully they'll have received the necessary shipment. If not, well, I guess we'll try again on Thursday. I'm going to get the new RSVP cards printed out for sure, though...after seeing how pretty and well-coordinated and classy the rest of our invitation looked, we realized that the RSVP cards we'd whipped up at the last minute looked horrible. So we put our heads together and made something a little more coordinated. All the envelopes are addressed, so the only remaining step is to get the doggone invitations printed out and tied together!! C'mon, Copyworks!! Oh yeah...I need to stop at Hobby Lobby tomorrow, too...we need to get a mini hole-punch (of the scrapbooking or decorative variety) for the invitations. We're tying the vellum topsheet to the patterned back sheet with silver and yellow floss, you see, and a regular-sized hole punch leaves these gargantuan pits that look rather ridiculous with sewing floss. If we were using ribbon, it wouldn't be a problem, but ribbon would be a little too bulky. If I can't find a good mini-punch, I may have to go with plan B: quilting needles. Those would probably work just fine as backup! So yeah. Flowers, Copyworks, Hobby Lobby, and then I have to stop at work to do my order, since otherwise the Boss would have to do ALL the ordering by himself, and I just don't think that's fair.
Speaking of people being out of things, there seems to be a sudden catastrophic loss of organic rolled oats in this town. The CoOp has been out of the organic bulk oats for so long that people are now buying out the "non-organic" (just natural) bulk oats...so now they don't have ANY oats. Thinking I was being terribly clever, I went to Hy-Vee today to get some of their bulk oats. Obviously, I wasn't the first person to have that idea, because Hy-Vee's organic section is also out of bulk oats. Dammit!! So I had to pick up a stupid container of the generic stuff in the cereal aisle. *sigh* Gimme real oats, people!!! >.< Oh well. Oats is oats, I suppose.
Okay, time to go pick up some more tobacco and go have a leisurely smoke in the Beeeeeeeyoooooooootiful sunshine before work!
