I was wondering what to do with baby rats, because I was planning to get a FN. I wondered if modifying it with wire mesh (SS or powder-coated, since I wouldn't want to risk zinc poisoning from galvanized) or making a temporary baby cage would be better, and someone suggested a CN.
However, I've found a lot of mixed reviews of the CN, particularly regarding shipping. I don't want deeper pans (I like using fleece, and if I wanted deeper pans I'd build them from coroplast). However, I've read that it is really not sturdy, and that it's coming horribly broken and bent.
Who has one? Did you have it shipped, and if so, from whom? Did anyone buy it in person, at PetSmart?
Worth it? Or better to modify a FN (it seems like that much safe wire mesh would be rather expensive...)?
