Emmy's

Jul 14, 2005 11:53

I set my alarm for 8 so I could get up...and I over slept. Missed the nominations by about an hour. God that pissed me off. In my defense, like anybody but me is judging me, I went to bed at around 4. But I really wanted to see it. I'm such a media whore. Anyways, Veronica Mars didn't get anything. I'm not really surprised, but a little disappointed. How amazing would that have been? But the Emmy voters are idiots, since Will and Grace tied with Desperate Housewives with the most nominations. Old favorites got recognized: The West Wing, Will and Grace, Everybody loves Raymond. But, as expected Desperate Housewives and Lost lead the new series.

So, DH got nods for Teri Hatcher, Marcia Cross (yeah!), and Felicity Huffman all got Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series nods. Eva Longoria didn't get one. I never thought she was as good as the others. Oh how I'd love to be a fly on the wall when those four next meet. Nicollette Sheridan didn't get a Best Supporting nod, though I thought she's one of the better actresses on the show. The show got Outstanding Comedy Series (still not a comedy, but OK.)

Lost got 12 nods! I know I've been down on the show, but Terry O'Quinn and Naveen Andrews got Supporting Actor nods, which is fantastic. Both are deserving, and thank God Matthew Fox didn't get anything. I think he's overrated and isn't very good. And, a huge sigh of relief that the world is still turning, because Evangeline Lilly DID NOT get anything. I know, but some people had put her on their dream Emmy ballots *cough*Kristin*cough*. I don't know why people would think she can act, since she gives Kate the blank appearance, instead of the woman struggling with trust and morality issues. Lost got a Outstanding Drama nod, and David Fury got a nod for his writing in 'Walkabout,' a really good episode. The Lost pilot got recognition for JJ, too.

Now for the truly deserving, Arrested Development got recognized more than once. Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor to Jason Bateman, Outstanding Supporting Actor to Jeffrey Tambor, and Outstanding Supporting Actress to Jessica Walters. I still say that David Cross and Will Arnett are rudely overlooked. 3 Outstanding Writing Nods too. I seriously hope that this doesn't lose out to Desperate Housewives, which isn't a comedy. It's a dramedy. A drama with comedic moments. HUGE DIFFERENCE. *humph*

Oh, and in OMGFRICKINGBESTTHINGEVER! Scrubs got 2 nominations! One for Outstanding Lead Actor to Zach Braff, and Outstanding Comedy Series! It's ABOUT TIME! Haven't we Scrubs fans be saying for years this show is amazing and special? It's taken 4 years for them to get that message. God I hate Emmy voters.

House got Outstanding Lead actor for Hugh Laurie, which is completely deserved. I've only been able to watch 8 episodes of House, and I knew he was worthy. Sandra Oh got Outstanding Supporting Actress for Grey's Anatomy. There's another show that rightfully didn't get too many nods. People were saying the show was Outstanding Drama worthy. Hell to the no. That show's barely TV worthy. I mean, for me (because I watch good TV), it's a guilty pleasure. Well, maybe minus the pleasure. It's just guilty. Nothing special. Just ER like it is today, with hipper music and a younger cast. It doesn't touch ER in its glory days. Jennifer Garner got her nod for Alias (whoo?) That wasn't a surprised. She's what we call a shoe in. Like Will and Grace, minus the crappiness.

So that's about it for the shows I watch. I'm sure there are other shows that y'all watch that got exciting news, so congrats, except if your show is Will and Grace. That show shouldn't even be there. It's insane. And I'm still a little disappointed that Veronica Mars and Kristen Bell didn't get recognized, but the brilliant show is just too off the radar. Oh well.
