Woah what a week. I should really update more than once per week.
So I'll start with the Giants. Whoo! I have never been prouder of little Eli! I know this annoyed a bunch of people, but I was so amused by the cutaways to Peyton in the luxury box, reacting to every little play. If I had to pick which Manning I thought would dethrone the Pats, it wouldn't have been adorable-John Krasinski-look alike Eli. Way to prove yourself and shut up the critics. I don't know how these commentators could count the Giants our after the two major upsets they pulled to get here. 18-1 baby!
What better to follow this beautiful upset than with an episode of House?
House 4.11
"Frozen" what a perfect title. I was prepared for much gimickry, with the videophone diagnosis and all. But it was pretty solid. Few comments before I get to Wilson's girlfriend.
1. No matter how in love I am, I will never drink his pee. Ever. I'll even direct him to this post if he ever questions me. NEVER.
2. If I ever end up in the Arctic, I'll ensure we have surgical instruments, because no one is drilling into my head using your standard woodshop drill.
3. I'm always going to look at my toes if I feel sick. Who know? Maybe I broke it and never noticed? But seriously, wouldn't you have felt a badly broken toe? She certainly felt it when that man put it back in place.
4. I would like to see more of Dr. Milton. I liked seeing House challenged like that. If she were at PPTH, you know House would have given her the treatment without her permission. But this proved interesting, and Greg so cared. I don't know if the PTB's could get Mira Sorvino again, but please try...
Now! Funny story about the big reveal. This episode I was thinking, "God it must suck for 'Cutthroat Bitch', being cut from the show with the big Super Bowl episode right around the corner. Then like ten minutes later she shows up! HEE! I adored seeing Anne Dudek on Mad Men as the smoking, drinking pregnant housewife. But I'll dive into my CB love in a second.
House 4.12
OK now to the CB love. She is seriously awesome! Or maybe it's not her but House's reaction to her. I loved all the House-insight this episode provided. Cuddy had the best, calling House the needy, which he is. I just never noticed that before, but he needs Wilson. Oh accusing someone of something that you do. Classic!
If I knew House, I would so want him to show up before all my dates. That scene when C.B. (Amber) pushed to get a table and House realized why Wilson was dating her ranks up there on my favorite scenes ever. The look of horror on House's face when he figured out that C.B. was like him was priceless. "Oh my God, you're sleeping with me!" then handing Wilson his drink and slowly walking away. I was looking up that quote, and man this episode was hysterical.
Oh man do I love me a 42 minute Jew-joke. Leave it to House to pull all of them out of his hat. I personally was a fan of the "finding religion means you're crazy" one. I wish I counted how many times House said "People don't change", a corollary to his "Everyone Lies" mantra. I'd like other episodes that focus on this particular corollary.
OK now some random things.
1. Where are the writers heading with this random "Thirteen is bisexual(?)" story? This was up there on the sexuality random scale, right below Elizabeth Rohm's departure from Law & Order.
2. Where the Hell is Cameron? I was watching a repeat yesterday and I realized how absent she's been. Seriously, she only had a tiny bit in the Super Bowl episode, where Cuddy pretended to fire her. So now she has to do two things: go back to being a brunette, and show up more.
So the writer's strike is really almost over. Yay! Except I hear not everyone's happy with the deal. I sorta knew this whole strike wouldn't really get them everything they wanted.
I'm off to rewatch Lost from this week, then I'll write about it.
