Busy, Busy, Busy
So I'm progressing in my college preparation. I'm now thinking about packing, as opposed to trying not to think about it. I'm looking around my room at random trinkets and stuff that are totes coming with me. I'm also creating lists of things I have to do and people I have to see and appointments I need to make before I depart. Needless the say I'm going to have a very, very busy 12 days. Scary.
I'm feeling bunches of Jo Rowling anger. Stupid contradictory chat about Luna (Deathly Hallows Spoilers inside).
OotP in 3D was a little underwhelming. I mean, the only part that was noticeably cooler was the scene with the Thestrals flying to the MoM. The Ministry battle just appeared clearer and more realistic, but no super cool 3D stuff. I thought Superman made better use of the 3D parts when I saw it.
I'm trying to get something together for this Friday to see Superbad. The friend I thought I was going with told me she couldn't. I hate having to search for friends to do things. Makes me feel a little selfish.
Dexter keeps making me think about House. Both exist for the main character. Dexter on it's own has a cool plot, but nothing really brilliant, but throw in a Sociopath serial killer, played by the amazing Michael C. Hall, and you have a show! It really is all about Dex, and I just eat up those voice overs, because you can really hear the coldness in his voice. Dexter hides it and puts on smiles around people, but the voice overs are purely him, the him that no one sees. I love how he gets this excitement, this sense of wonder, when it comes to the Ice Truck Killer. Then he has these moments when he truly wishes he could feel. It's so genuine and, in a way, heartbreaking, because you can't really cure a sociopathic serial killer. I know Dex claims he can't love, but I think, on a level he can't understand, he loved Harry. His father guided him, and Dex has this respect for him. I probably can't explain this well, but the point is this show is a major character study that is totally making my life.
I downloaded Cavemen, haven't watched it yet. My dad gives it 2 episodes. I bet it gets pulled off the air 15 minutes in with a message from ABC saying "Just kidding!"
