I wasn't huge on this episode, but I thought it was generally good. I've decided Heroes is a one watch show. If I watch it more than once, I get annoyed and see the critics' points. So I watch it once and enjoy it a lot. Hiro? My fav. That nuke scared me... If I wanted nukes I could watch Jericho. Oh GREG! Greg Grunberg finally! He's such a cutie! That serial killer/super villain Sylar sketches me out. So he freezes the victims and steals their brains? I actually think he eats their brains (with fava beans and a nice chianti.) Claire is more interesting than I originally thought. Her "dad" continues to creep me out. What's he going to do now that he knows she's special. Claire snapping her neck back into place creeped me out, because it was a total accident and she would have died. Scary. So about Niki...how is schizophrenia a super power? Think about it, she has two personalities and only remembers one of them. How very Tyler Durden. So her other persona is a criminal mastermind...still not a super power...
OMG the opening fucking ruled! Not as good as the Mama Cass Desmond opening last year, but pretty damn awesome. The first time I watched the episode, I felt like the hatch needed to be addressed. The second time I was able to look at how psychological this episode was. I mean you have Kate being given a dress to make her feel like a lady. Think about how hard she's had it and to have that security of a dress and a sit down meal at a table. Then she's thrown into a cage. A CAGE...for bears. I mean why do the Others want to dehumanize these survivors. Why treat them like animals? Tom basically compared Sawyer to a bear... So how well connected are the Others? In the beginning when "Ben" ordered the people to get names, I thought they really were working off of info gathered from the survivors, but when Juliet pulls out Jack's life story, there's no way she could have that without some connection. I was really impressed with the characterizations in this episode, I think I might need to watch Lost eps multiple times if there's going to be creepiness and development (obv not plot though.)
Gay Witch Hunt really raised the bar for the series. Therefore I have ridiculously high standards for these episodes. So I was once again fairly eh. But I was highly amused by Angela manipulating Dwight into overthrowing Caesar... Oops wrong play. In school we're reading Julius Caesar, so I was just highly amused by how similar this was. I really should tell my English teacher, she'd probably get a kick out of it. Other than the coup d'etat, I was dying during the Stamford Call of Duty game. It actually made me want to play that game. Jim? Plz come back. That other gal isn't cool :-( At least Pam looked hot...and got hit on by everyone. Hell I would have hit on her.
This episode I felt was the best so far this season. I mean I was interested in the character story, I was interested in the patient. It had drama, it had humor, Mere was annoying... I'll start with Mere, dude you have two guys fighting over you, how much more fucking attention do you want? It's all about her, and anytime it is about anybody else, she can't handle it. Let's move on to Izzy, that poor girl, just stood outside the hospital all day long. Poor gal. Cristina is sick of Burke sitting on his ass after surgery. Burke is right though, recovery could take months, but his gal ain't hearing it. So she buys him a chicken and slices it in half and tells him to fix it... I feel like I never would operate on poultry. George is having issues with Callie. As are we all. What an awkward couple. Really awkward. So George doesn't want her living with him...neither do we G. Neither do we. So she's out of the house. Now to Alex and Megan. Abigail Breslin is the most adorable person in the history of mankind. So can I call this a Heroes cross over? Indestructible Girl, meet Painless Girl...discuss. Alex is really improving his bedside manner, you know challenging little girls to pain endurance tests. That ice bucket thing was hysterical and Alex flipped a shit when she won. He was just jealous :-) Oh Addison and McSteamyMark. Heee, he's totes a regular and it's the shit. Poor Addison crying in that closet. She has every right to be all teary, because seriously? Mere was an asshole
Random: Why aren't people watching Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip? It's freaking great, and it's not getting high ratings.
PS: Did any of you watch The Nine and find it boring? I know I did over the summer, but the rest of the world felt it was the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Eh it's late now, I'll post BSG reactions tomorrow...There're a lot :-) I'm heading to UVa tomorrow for an overnight. I hope I like it, and I hope I get work done, I have a shitload to do and I'm freaking out.
