last night was the first good night's sleep (re: night where i didn't have to wake up for an alarm) since last sunday night. work and all that, i got a temporary full time job at staples in their warehouse to help set up the new store at ubc. from last tuesday to the coming friday. i ended up working yesterday as well because they offered to send me to the ubc location to help set up since they needed the help, and i accepted, wanting the money.

the 2 week temporary thing actually works out perfectly for me, because my job at the pne fair (http://www.pne.bc.ca) starts on sunday and is full time for two weeks as well, right up till labour day. full time work for august. sweetness. then i gotta look for another part time job since the store i currently work for, coast mountain sports, sucks. i've been with them since last july. no respect. all the managers i've had since the first two (and they've gone through four in a year's time) suck. including the current ones.

went to the fireworks last night--impressive finale. i think its because there's no $50000 budget for the final show like the other ones, since they have to cap it for the competition (china won). i was supposedly meeting up with several groups of people but ended hanging out with a totally different group instead. my CMS work buddy zane and his group wasn't reachable, my new german friends visiting canada from the warehouse ended up going to the other beach across the water instead of downtown, and i bailed on this other group of people i knew because of several certain people that happened to be there. so i ended up with chris and his posse with allan playing tag-a-long on me (i guess he didn't like the other group either). by sheer coincidence we bumped into some girls that allan knew and got great spots on the beach. i guess he's good for something after all! oh, and there was this german girl on vacation in the group (lots of germans in this story) that he was trying to mack on. i stopped long ago when i found out she was 14. and he's 5 months older than i am. forking perv.

after the show we walked at least an hour and a half to gastown, then back to downtown to catch the skytrain because the restaurants we wanted to get to were closed. me in my sandals after 8 hours of work, carrying a 20ish pound duffel on my shoulder. damn.

ended up at mac's convenience store while waiting for the transfer to the bus getting off the skytrain station. missed one pulling away as we were getting off the train, missed another inside mac's based on chris' stupid assumption that it only came every half hour at this time of night (he works at the mcdonald's and has to take the bus late at night there). just like his stupid suggestion to walk to gastown. bastard.

also, walnut danish = tasty. woe to the consumption of so many empty calories.
