This post is about Jason
For those familiar with my LJ You may know about my Halloween reviews, usually I fuck up and post filler for most the time, but I do try for a few days. So as you can tell I'm something of a horror fan, mainly the slasher genre of the 1980s. So now we have a remake of the first three Friday the 13th movies (more or less) coming out on Friday.
Now I've always been more of a Freddy fan, but the hockey masked killer has a special spot in my heart. So I am looking forward to the new one, fuck yes. Because of the films that feature Jason, the first has his mother, the only one that really sucks is the ninth film. Which is where Jason was a worm thing and possessed people. So as long as Jason is walking around killing people, I'm happy. Throw in some female nudity and great kills and you have the makings of a great Jason movie. Based on all I've seen, this one will deliver all three.
Also if you're a fan of the series, I recommend getting a documentary called "His Name Was Jason". It details the whole series, has interviews with the various Jasons over the years, an interview with the only black guy to survive a movie, and it is hosted by Tom Salvini. Wal-Mart had it for $10, so most places probably have it around the same price. Plus it comes with a poster and free ticket to the new movie.
Also here is the finest moment in the whole series, Crispin Glover spazzing out.
