Is it common for NT women to not care for shoe shopping and to prefer shoes that are comfortable over those that are fashionable, trendy, or sexy? ( Read more... )

I don't like shopping for *anything*. I design furniture just so I don't have to shop. Though I own 58 pairs of shoes, about 8 of those are sneakers and a wear any of the other 50? probably less than once a year.

I wear converse. Everywhere, unless I **really** can't.

I have one pair of athletic shoes and one pair of mule sneakers that I wear inside the house when it gets too cold to walk around in my socks.

Some photographer did notice when I was in the 12th grade that I was wearing tennis shoes while most other girls were wearing sandals/flats. He asked me if I was an athlete- I said no. I was just not a girly girl.

I generally laugh when someone talks about the "trendiness" of converse. I usually break out a photo of me taken before the speaker was born showing me wearing them. :)

I very much dislike shopping in general. I don't care about shoes as long as they fit and don't give me blisters. I think wearing uncomfortable/dangerous shoes because they're fashionable is stupid.

I like sneakers, hiking boots, and flip-flops. I don't wear high heels at all, but I have an excuse; my feet are unusually wide, so they don't fit into high heels.

I don't care for flip-flops and think they are for the beach and the pool but not for work and church and the mall, but that is a whole other issue.

I totally agree with the part that some fashionable shoes could be dangerous. Especially if you have to climb stairs on a regular basis.

See, I'd rather wear heels than flip-flops. Not that I'm a big high-heels fan -- to the contrary, I have a joint issue which makes them especially problematic. But I can't walk in flip-flops.

If you ever change your mind, Teddy Shoes in Central Sq. Cambridge sells shoes for drag queens, i.e. women's shoes in thinly-veiled men's sizes. Some of the comfiest heels I've ever worn. Figures. As always, the men's version of the commodity is superior. :7

I'm into big stompy boots, personally. I prefer those or bare feet.

I do have a pair of knee-high black boots and cannot wait to find a brown one that is pretty and affordable.

I'm an NT woman in a 9.5W.

While I see some aesthetic appeal to certain fashion shoes, it's very much outside the mainstream. What I wear is stable, comfortable shoes that can go from professional dress to the gym without changing. Right now, that's black NewBalance shoes. I WOULD pay more if I found another company style that fit my multi-faceted lifestyle and fashion. (they'd have to look good with both jeans AND dress slacks.)

Foot pain in intolerable and illogical for the sake of any fashion or aesthetic appeal. Wasting money on the concept is being my scope of comprehension.

From the time I was about 21 until I was about 36, I wore Birkenstocks almost every single day. I don't wear them anymore because, frankly, they're ugly as sin. I also got tired of looking lumpy. Over the last four years I've completely revamped my wardrobe, and that's meant buying better shoes as well as clothes ( ... )

Oh, and shoe shopping used to drive me crazy--that was part of the reason why I stayed in Birks for so long ( ... )
