Here I am, the essence of our (U.S.) government problems

Nov 02, 2004 13:34

I've been saying for a while now that the reason I won't vote is that I don't feel like going to the trouble of adding a small percentile to the third party presidential ballots. That I'm equally annoyed by Kerry and Bush.

You know, after giving this site a decent read-through, I suddenly felt I ought to go out today and see if I can register and vote for Kerry on the spot. Resolved and ready to "make a difference," I searched Google for anything listing the polling station closest to me. ... And then I searched again. ... And again. How the hell do I find it? I don't even have anyone I can ask.

...Hell. Now I've gone and given up. I guess the USA can rot. :|

EDIT/UPDATE:
I eventually drove out and asked a gas station/Subway clerk where to vote. From there began a wild goose chase that featured hope, determination, deception, and futility. (I was told that if I drove across town I could register through a sort of loophole, but it turned out not to be so.) I cry.

Looks like I am still a mere observer. Go go good team. Or something.
