summer lovin'

May 31, 2009 19:32

my goodness summer has arrived! It is an absolutely beautiful day and I have just returned from a lazy barbeque at kestrel's house, complete with crane and many other lovely people, and sausages in buns and mini-milk ice creams and couscous. The grass at my house is kind of patchy and brown, but there they obviously take care of their garden because it's springy and bright green, and a lot of fun to run around and play badminton and put paddling pools on.

well, I said I would post photos of prank day, and so I shall (eons later, but still!)

We started off the evening by blowing up the million-trillion-and-then-some balloons...

(no idea whose pjs those are)

But first, we had to make our sign...

And then we decided to get the party started with some loud music, casual drinking (cheap Spanish Rioja, Sainsbury's Own brand - only the best) and much hilarity as we tried to dance to everything from Rihanna to 'Ice Ice Baby'

(none of these people are me, I am behind the camera, drunk on aforementioned Spanish rioja, so that is why I am lying on the floor at this point).

We decided that we needed appropriate war-paint... (that's me with the blue, friend-with-alice-the-vampire-haircut just behind)

And then it was time to make mischief!

(that's us sneaking into the school with duvet covers filled with balloons. unfortunately I never got a picture of the end result, which looked fantastic, but at least the memories are there!)

(what we did to the staff room.)

(in the morning, we lined our cars up on the field, stuck out signs up (I'm the V, in case you wondered), wound down the windows and cranked up the volume as loud as we could on our radios. It was pretty awesome, especially as we woke up most of the boarders. The diversion sign got 'borrowed' the night before - and replaced, the next day, so don't tell the police!)

(one of our number got an ice cream van to come park on the field at break and lunch. those kids LOVED us.)

(more field shenanigans)

(some very colourful people who took the idea of 'let's all dress up as smarties' to the next level...)

(me looking crrraaaazzy - ps why yes my eyes ARE naturally that blue! not coloured contact lenses AT ALL.)

(chemistry is hard, yo.)

(biology cupcakes, which I made. you are utterly forbidden from laughing. Extra points if you can guess what they're supposed to be)

(aaand to finish off, a cake I made for my lovely language department, who have been wonderful this year)
.

And that is that, thank you for watching!
