today has been a one in a million kind of day

Today I left the school which has been my home for the past seven years, got offered the possibility of a job here in september doing something that would be a dream come true, and ended things with the first guy I've been out with.

I cried in chemistry yesterday when I told A that it would be the last time we would ever put on those lab coats and safety goggles. She started it, honest to god. I thought I wouldn't feel nostalgic and sentimental and upset. I am a fool! A great big fool, as I remind myself. Often, and quite painfully! A & L came round and we put on memory songs and drank and had sober deep conversations about life and relationships and who we will miss and who we will see and whose weddings we will go to and who will get asked to be godparents of whose children.

It is actually not today anymore, it's already tomorrow, and I have packing to do for the canada jaunt. My revision is coming with me, Joffo and practice papers and Lorca, the whole crew.

school, moments to remember
