Biggest Crude Oil Carriers in the World: report in short

The biggest crude oil tanker worldwide 'was' the SEAWISE GIANT (later Happy Giant, Jahre Viking, and Knock Nevis): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seawise_Giant

The largest two today are the TI OCEANIA (IMO No.9246633) and TI EUROPE (IMO No.9235268) at 234,006 g.t., 441,585 DWT, and 380m LOA.

Also sisters FSO ASIA and FSO AFRICA of similar dimensions are in use as Floating Storage and Offloading units following conversion by Dubai Drydocks in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

As a point of interest the largest tanker trading today with Panamax beam of 32.26m is the chemical and oil tanker THERESA MEDITERRANEAN 77,787 DWT built in 1986, though fully laden she would be too deep draughted at 15.13m.

The largest truly Panamax dimensioned tanker today is Newlead Holdings' NEWLEAD COMPASSION built by Dalian in 2006 and coming in at 41,589 g.t., 72,782 DWT, 228.6m LOA, 32.20m Beam and 12.00m Draught. Its largely academic though as not many tankers transit the canal fully laden.
