Title: Where You Find Them

I miss my Season 1 boys! When Dean was all bouncy and got his feelings hurt when Sam snapped at him, and Sammy who was so sweet and cared about people and had a haircut that made sense.

Awww... Any story that ends with Mr. Scowlly Pants smiling makes me heart feel good. After the past couple of seasons of Depressed Dean, I had forgotten how much he used to try to cheer Sammy up. :)

I know! I miss the way the boys used to be.

I was chatting with pkwench, and we realized that the last time Sam smiled that wide-open smile of his was during the Season 3 finale when Dean makes him sing Bon Jovi. He's never smiled like that again, not in two whole entire seasons.

It is to weep.

For someone who has one of the most gorgeous smiles on the planet, Sam sure doesn't smile much. I guess that makes those rare flashes of dimples all the more precious.

Thanks for writing a fic that makes me get lost in thought just pondering this...

Sam hasn't smiled an honest-to-goodness proper SAM smile since the finale of Season 3. Since then all the smiles have been small and brittle and wry or bitter.

*sigh*

And he last smiled then? When Dean made him sing Bon Jovi, right? Still, what a time to be smiling! S6 had better give us real smiles when they're actually in happy places. Because those had better exist. Yeah.
