After the events of 'The End' Castiel manages to get Dean away from Zachariah, but when Dean returns he finds that nine months have gone by and, more importantly, that Sam has all but disappeared from the face of the planet. This was a fascinating read! I'd love to see some follow-up to this about how this changes what happened in canon.

The first scene between them in the coffee shop was downright painful to read, with Sammy so beaten down by Dean's words on the phone and Dean so completely unable to take it back, like we used to say as kids to make it better.

This was basically self-indulgent h/c id fic, so I'm not sure if I'll ever really get around to following up on the consequences that this would have in canon.

EEEEEE! It's been a long time since I've read a good blind!Sam fic (years!) and it's fascinating how setting a story in season 5 make it so different than a fic written after season 1 or 2. This was perfectly situated, so believable and so heartwrenching.

Definitely bookmarking to savor this again and again!

This was absolutely awesome. I'll never get tired of reading all the possible scenarios after 5x04 (I'm fact i'm a little obsessed with it) and this one is simply fascinating. Poor Sam is so broken, so bitter, so resigned to think he's nothing but a burden and Dean has totally deserted him... I can only imagine his pain at discovering Dean didn't even answer the hospital calls. I'm really glad Dean found him and managed to explain what happened, but it's obvious they still have a long way to go because the breach between them is still there and they have a lot to talk about to regain their trust in each other. This is only the beginning, but at least they are together again, which it's all that really matters in the end

I agree that it would be an interesting start to a curtain-fic, but with Lucifer and the Apocalypse still hanging over their heads I don't know if Dean would be able to stay. Then again, if he goes, I definitely agree with you that it would drive Sam right over the edge.

No idea if I'll ever get around to a sequel. This was just shamelessly indulgent id-fic for myself that I wrote as a "break" from the stuff I'm writing for Big Bangs. But it would be interesting.
