I hate that Dean doesn't have his amulet. And this is so them this last season. Not listening to each other until something kicks them in the ass and makes them listen. Nice and whumpy Christmas.

I hate it too. I keep thinking that he's not properly protected without it.

*waffles anxiously*

And yeah. The Winchesters haven't been top-notch in the listening department, either of them. I'm hoping they can get it together before the end.

*waffles some more*

LOL

I can just picture boxes of Eggo Waffles, now with extra Prozac!

This show turns me into a nervous wreck, I swear! I keep worrying about what's going to happen whenever I see a new episode. It's going to make me lose my mind, I know it. :P

I really felt for Sam in this one. I'm never allowed to be sick as the Mom in the family, so when something big hits, it's always a shock to everyone. Luckily, I've never had severe Pneumonia. I think the house would fall apart.

This was a fabulous Christmas story. It had all the right tender moments. I really want to take those boys home and give them a real Christmas. Sigh.

Yeah, mothers aren't allowed to get sick. It's against the rules or something. ;)

I've had walking pneumonia, spent my childhood with almost chronic bronchitis, and none of it is fun. I can only imagine how crappy Sam must be feeling.

I know what you mean about the boys, too. I want to wrap them both up in a blanket and feed them tea and cookies until the freaking apocalypse goes away and leaves them alone.

Lovely. So true sounding and perfect Dean voice and Sam remembering at the end and admitting he missed Dean. Not saying his family but "you" specifically -- which is just as I see them.

Pulled out one favorite beat ...

this: He's pale, sweating, each breath laboured, and Dean feels that terrible clenching sensation that he always feels
when Sam is hurt or sick (or dead, his traitorous mind whispers), as though all the air has been sucked out of the
room
--- Just loved this sentence, especially the parenthesis.

The "you" is pretty ambiguous, yeah, but I tend to agree with you: it's Dean he missed, not Dean-and-John.

Thanks for going back to this story. :)
