wow, i really loved this. another story set in the early seasons, argh, it's too good! There's so very 'Winchester' here and they're very human; Sam with his insecurity and Dean with his pain (that doesn't translate into punching Sam but into silence instead, i like that). It makes them so much more relatable. Love it.

Y'know, all the warnings about the angst almost turned me away from the fic, but I'm glad I read it anyway. It's got the quiet, sad vibe to it that I love, and after reading n-number of over-the-top post-IMTOD fics, this is pretty much a blessing. Dean, quiet and grieving. Sam, doing his best to keep them both going. If not for Dean, there would be no reason to talk. hit me so hard for some reason.

This is where I'm more like Sam. When things are down, I am a talker. But I love Dean's silence too, and can understand it. I love how you've managed the unspoken communication. Of course Sam would be able to understand Dean- words or not.

I can understand Dean's silence too, although I've found that if I keep quiet and let things simmer it never ends well.

Poor boys. At least in Season 2 they still had each other.
