In Afghanistan eighty five thousand children under 5 years of age die each yeah from diarrhea.
Now I'm thinking how pathetic it was for me to pretend I had diarrhea when I was 5 years old to get out of school one day. I guess you don't realise how lucky you are until you realise what the rest of the world has to deal with ... its a pity though that it takes such a statistic to show ourselves how selfish we can be.
I'm coming close to finishing my book about a female freelance journalist who went to Afghanistan shortly after September 11 ... and my fascination with this country is increasing and increasing. More than my fascination with blogs. More than my fascination with taking videos. And even perhaps more than my fascination with feet.
But they are other stories for other days ...
