Just Finished Watching Mad Men...

Tonight's episode on BBC 4 was titled 'The Suitcase' - this episode made me laugh and teary at the end. The argument between Peggy and Don was semi-epic; of course, when Don gets angry his tone of voice sounds serious. They have so much potential of having a very successful and loving friendship especially when they both opened up. I could relate to that.

Before the credits, Don calls Anna in California (his 'ex-wife' - he swapped dog tags with the real Don Draper in Korea). Her niece Stephanie answers the phone to tell him Anna is gone. Unbeknownst to Anna, Don was only informed of her bone cancer via a relative. He decided not to confront Anna whilst she was having treatment.

Jon Hamm is probably one of the best actors around. Not at the moment because that is clearly an understandment. He can do comedy, drama, and romance. Hamm has the face of a classic Hollywood actor back in the 1960s. Not a typical copy cat version of these youngster Twilight actors. No offense Twilight fans or Justin Bieber fans. With the personal problems Hamm had faced during childhood, he can empathise with Don's character to the extreme.

My mood swings are back in full force. I believe watching tonight's Mad Men has helped me especially when I laughed at the scene when Duck fighting Don on the floor. Seeing 'perfect' Peggy shitfaced was rare, but anything edgy she does is surprising. She has reformed to the extrovert since the first series and gone out of her shell.

Anyway, the last Mad Men episode aired on Sunday over in the States. I read the spoilers. I understand writers do twists and turns in order to get viewers glued to the TV glues and keep them thinking of what's going to happen next. But... I won't mention what Don did next. Whoever saw the episode 'Tomorrowland', which I haven't, were you surprised by Don's proposal? I only read the spoilers (cheeky me) on the official website. Me thought he was onto Faye. I was wrong...

That's all

tv, mad men, things, jon hamm
