Photography Is Expensive

My dad and his cousin are on the plane back to England as I speak. They'll arrive back home in the morning, I guess. I have to wait for their arrival, something I'm willing to do although I would like to back to the museum later on... Or should I wait until next week. I don't know.

Today, I went out (it was pouring down with rain but who cares?) to the museum in South Kensington. The 'usual' one, Victoria and Albert, where I attended the Modern Masters exhibition and My Generation: The Glory Years of British Rock. Thanks to a documentary that was recently featured on BBC 1, which is called Modern Masters; and a freebie fashion magazine advertising the Generation exhibition a while back, I couldn't afford to miss the two exhibitions.

I recently watched the Modern Masters series on iPlayer, however I only watched three and half of the four episodes (Andy Warhol, Henri Matisse and Pablo Picasso; Dali was the fourth episode). I found the artists fascanating, even Matisse. Towards the end of the programme, the presenter and art critic, Alastair Sooke was in a chapel that the artist designed and it moved him into tears. I'm not use to men crying. I haven't even seen my dad cry before, but a man on national crying over how much he admires the work and energy that Matisse had put in making the chapel at such an old age also made me feel touched. Laughing would have been inappropriate. I have to admit also, that I also cry to sad songs too.

Moving on, on my way back to Liverpool Street this afternoon, I popped into Currys to buy a pack of blank CDs (I'm going to stop soon - they don't bloody work!). I walked up to a camera display to find my dream camera, sitting comfortably next to a Canon and Nikon DSLR. I have to get it, amongst other things. The Lumix G1 is my new baby! Lighter than an average DSLR - less expensive than an average DSLR. *squee*

I didn't get the photographic society application through the post today. Maybe tomorrow... I hope. I have to do it asap before the spaces are taken.

That's all

photography, art, tv, things
