How Do You Choose Your Books?

May 03, 2009 15:43

This is part two of the books-related polls. So far, I have finished reading Syd Barrett's biography, and now I'm in the middle of choosing what book I should read next.

The three books that I bought from the discount shop a few weeks ago (Twisted by Jeffery Deaver; Hollywood Wives - The New Generation by Jackie Collins; and The Black Echo by Michael Connelly) are the ones that I would like to read sooner rather than later.

weiantheman told me about Jeffrey Deaver, as he does all the legal thriller stuff and I still haven't left the legal department yet. That was a recommendation and sometimes I prefer them, however whenever I purchase books I skim through the blurb and decide if the book is going to be bought. Sometimes book covers can be very misleading; don't be fooled by glitter on a book which might turn out to be long and boring.

So F-List, how do you choose your books?
