Canada Day and Prom Night (Not The Film)

Jul 01, 2008 15:13

As it's Canada Day in Canada (I just learned about the holiday only yesterday), The Daily Mail posted an interesting article on Emigration. Yes, that subject again but it's worth reading though (the comments from readers). Although I'm too young to worry about tax, health care and education, I do because it's important that everyone feels comfortable with receiving the right treatment and not worrying about high tax rates (nowadays, we have to pay tax on everything which is absolutely ridiculous!).

Before I start whining on about big topics, the education system hasn't been the best ever lately. I don't want to start pointing fingers at anyone but my school has the worst GCSE results whilst Green School (aka Walthamstow School for Girls) has the best results. I always hated my school and it's no surprise that my school has shitty results - and no parent would like their children to go there. So... Year 11 have a prom for what then? Good results in their exams? A reward? Seriously?

Speaking of prom, the prom is on tonight. Yup, it's still on; hasn't been 'called off' or 'cancelled' or 'not going on'. I guess we made enough donations for the big celebrations. I think some people are going to the prom by bus or have to pay for a coach. Or a limo - unless you're Lauren J, who's sixteen today. I won't be attending the prom however, I am seriously dying to go on a holiday for a week to either New York, Paris or Canada (I'm having one of those days again; when I fall in love with a place). With fares being so fucking expensive, I have no choice but go to Leeds in August with my mum. Oh God no! Well, the up side of this is that I get to go on a train (and I love train journeys), I get to go to Victoria train station (which has that Harry Potter feeling) and there'll always be a Paper Chase (they sell great stationary for ridiculous prices!).

That's all

P.S: Amy Winehouse has left the clinic. Yes, and worried family and friends fear that she might go back to her drug addiction. Right, it's her life and I feel like no-one shouldn't give up on her. Let's hope she beats her addictions and get back to the studio to record a new album! Meanwhile, her scumbag of a husband, Blake, has makes horny a much more dirtier word...
