I doubt I'm going to be doing much with it aesthetically. Maybe lower it an inch when I get new springs, that's about it. I prefer a certain sleeper aspect to my cars. :D

Make sure you do shocks at the same time, and put decent tires on. Subaru has a nasty habit of putting irredeemably poor tires on their cars.

The struts on the legacy can handle stiffer springs (to an extent), and as it happens, the RE92A's on the Legacy aren't half bad (they're Z rated). Not awesome, stopping distance is kind of crappy because of them, but otherwise they're not bad. Not worth replacing before they're worn out, anyways.

Speed rating has almost nothing to do with tire quality. The RE92s are some of the worst tires (outside of economy) that I've driven on.

...as for stock struts, well... Every time any company has ever told me that their springs will work with stock shocks, I've found fairly clear evidence that they're lying. YMMV, but if you're paying someone else to install them, it's silly not to do it now.

Well, it's a good thing I didn't ask the company, and asked the guys at the performance shop. :)

Don't take this the wrong way, but I've generally found that most performance shops are either totally clueless, or bigger liars than the manufacturers. Or both.

Well, if the performance shop that just posted the highest dynoing (and streetable) WRX sti in north america is 'clueless or bigger liars than the manufacturers', and reputable enough that a gentleman sent his Outback down from Massachusets to be built up into the most powerful outback in the world, then gee, I wonder what the good ones are like ( ... )
