Why do rotting potatoes smell so much worse than any other rotting fruit or vegetable?! And how can it get so bad so quickly? I swear a few days ago there was no sign of a potato liquifying in my storage box. Ew, ew, ew.

I raise you a rotten, sloppy mess of iceberg lettuce as the worst smelling veg, ever!

Maybe it depends on what molds are doing the digestive work... I've had lettuce (not iceberg, but another kind) go gross and slimy in my fridge's crisper, but that didn't come close to this liquid potato.
