I'm still feeling awful, and I thought watching tv would take my mind off of things, but apparently CSI was a bad choice, because even though I'm not generally a squeamish person, just now when I saw the victims with the blood on them that reminded be of Gonzo's bloody neck when I pulled his body out, and it crushed me all over again, instead of

I watched Jurassic Park again tonite--probably thats not a good one for you in your current frame of mind. Cows getting eaten, etc.... At least Gonzo went quick and of natural causes, unlike poor lab animals.

Well, I guess most fates are better than those of lab rats, but he was supposed to live at least two years as a pampered pet rat in their new luxurious cage with the company of his brother and Ben, looking forward to being spoiled with tasty food and having the run of my room, where he would have enjoyed the rat entertainment areas (like I put up sandboxes for digging and climbing branches and such in the hope of diverting attention from the entertainment value of chewing all cables). So that there are really unfortunate rats out there who suffer worse than getting killed by another rat is little consolation.
