I visited the baby rats today! Young rats are just incredibly adorable. They're still tiny, but their eyes are now open, and they are already very lively and curious, but they were not yet at the age were you have no chance to contain their manic energy, so I could pet them without them whizzing around too much

Looking at your icon reminds me though of what was really surprising, which was that the breeder had a cat who got along fine with the rats, including the tiny babies. I have never seen that before. Dogs, yes, but a cat? Then again, that cat was very mellow. It sat next to me when I cuddled the rat babies and wanted to be petted as well. Though wisely the tiny rats did not attempt to climb on the cat, no matter how mellow it seemed.
