Hien Gericke Maxwell GTX boots review

Oct 10, 2010 14:52

Right for the next item up in my series of mini reviews (been thinking of making a new account to cross post these on (maybe "Ratchets reviews")

http://www.hein-gericke.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/products_id/3937

I've owned these boots since I started riding two and a half years ago (has it really been that long!) are the only item of clothing i still use from then, and they have held up very well, other than the wear you would expect, and the red stripe on the sole wearing away they still have a lot of life in them yet, so i guess they pass the wear part of the test :p,

Tthey also survived a recent "off" with little more then some minor scuffing and after giving them a polish with some parade gloss them they look almost as good as they did before, so seems they will last a long time yet (till the soles wear out i guess)

These ones are Goretex lined with leather outers and have been 100% waterproof, even through heavy rain and my feet don't sweat to badly in them (i usually wear motorcycle socks on long journeys anyway)

Overall i have no real complaints, well the fastening system (zips with Velcro to tighten them) is hard to tighten 100% to my satisfaction, but its a minor issue really, so these get another thumbs up from me, 9/10 overall :3

I Guess it shows that i like Hien Gericke products (plus it helps that the local store is 5 mins away from my house)

review, motorcycle
