Initiation

Out in town today with Kirsty. I bought hairsprey because I had run out. I am sooo poor. Really. I could only afford 5 cookies from Millie's Cookies. And some pizza from Pizza Hut. And the hairsprey... but now I am really poor.

For some reason I kept talking about typography, much to Kirsty's annoyance. It's not my fault - when random facts get into my brain I just cant get them out. Did you know that the guy who designed Times New Roman (one of the worlds most popular typefaces) didn't plan to be designing typefaces, he was simply supposed to be re-vamping the Times paper? Or that Fat Face is totally revolutionary typeface? No? Well that's because it is all so incredibly, incredibly boring and why our teacher tells us no to have such a massive grin on our face when we leave early to "do research at the library".

Oops I also bought some beads today, but they only cost a pound.

I found an old tape yesterday that I had started making and never finished - and good lord it was awesomeness incarnate. All my favourite tracks from ages ago were on it (with noted omissions of Amen and Refused - but other than that...) - Sweet Sixteen from back when Feeder were awesome, Days Of The Pheonix and He Who Laughs Last by A.F.I., Pennywise, Snot ft. Theo Kogan from the Lunachicks, old Offspring and more I can't remember. And then at the end Initiation by At The Drive-In - the re-done radio 1 version of it which is just wonderful. Wow.

I wonder if I should finish the tape or leave it the way I found it. Currently just under one side has been taped. I don't want to ruin it - although it is probably only great by accident since it begins with the good but not incredible Alec Empire (Addicted To You. I think I will finish it - but carefully, not just shoving on things I'll be completely bored with in a couple of months. Currently I'm into electro-disco-punk stuff such as The Flesh and Cex but who knows how long that will last. I'll post up the track list when I'm done.

Also on the topic of music, I was shocked to find that Refused and Feeder have both slipped off my Top Five Bands Of All Time list. Though there are so many just missing out in the top 10, 20, 30... you get the picture.
