Words like "righteous" terrify me. That word leaves little room for review, thought, contemplation, and post review criticism.
Actually, that word phrasing sounds an awful lot like George Bush rhetoric.
Her thought that "god has a plan" feels like a person who has an external locus of control. this means the events of the world form around her and she's powerless to make things happen. It's not fucking up to god. It's up US to make OUR world happen. Even assuming the existence of god, why would he meddle? that would remove free will from the equation.
I was rolling my eyes and shaking my head before this, but now I'm feeling a bit sick. I knew that I disagreed on policy, but this interview was one that showcased a person completely incompetent to lead this country. I had someone tell me "Well, she doesn't need to be qualified, she's only going to be VP".... are you fucking kidding me? Do you KNOW what the VP is???
Of course, in making this post I'm guilty of accepting the sound bites without listening to the full message and allowing my anger/frustration to be based on soundbites which may or may not be in context. However, anyone bringing that phrasing to the table is of great concern to me.
