Nickolas: I am so emo sometimes. I mean.. at least I have the mindset of an emo kid, not that I act on it or anything..
Emo kid: You're not emo. You don't have to deal with all the day to day issues that being an emo kid entails. Things like straightening our hair, dying our hair, chopping, layering, feathering, or teasing our hair, painting our nails, going to American Eagle to try on girl pants, not eating so we can try to fit in Hollister's girl pants, vomiting when we find out we're still too fat to fit in size 00, writing in our livejournals, putting on eyeliner, eyeshadow, reading obscure and inconsequential (look at my pseudo-impressive vocabulary... I used "pseudo-" as a prefix..too bad I spell things wrong all the time like teher and thier, those are too words I get mixed up all teh ttime) authors, listening to similar music (it's minimalism, respect it or I'll cut myself), taking pictures of myself in my mirror or at my desk with my webcam, photochopping said pictures, contemplating the day that I will die.. by my own hand.. or my girlfriend's, thinking of catchy phrases that use third grade imagery - keywords = "knives," "fire," "whore," "core," "electric," or "piano," making two dimensional 'art,' which will ultimately become a background for someone's myspace/xanga/livejournal, trying to come up with ways to justify our bisexuality, settling on the fact that we listen to Gravy Train!!!! and are looking for deeper meaning in their 'works..,' coming up with artistic uses of nonsensical punctuation;; &&/ drawing dinosaurs, thinking about dinosaurs (though the only ones that ever existed were stegosaurus and any falling under sauropoda (Brachiosaurus, Apatosaurus, and Diplodocus), &^& making clothing and accessories, buying clothing and accessories at Goodwill/Sal.Army/anygeneralthriftstore, writing things in onelongchain, listening to Alexisonfire, and...most importantly... crying.
So you see, Nickolas... you are clearly not emo.
You're just a poseur. Just like everyone else. In fact, I'm the only true 'emokid.' Now, if you'll be a doll, I have to get back to playing Ms. PacMan on my vintage NES.
