To the Legislature of Florida....

Warning: Unclassy and vile language after the cut that is far and away beyond any kind of language and express thoughts that I would normally say. However, if I saw a member right now, I would say this to his/her face because I am so angry.

Dear fucking gawd.
oceangraphy? In an ocean state? @@
Phys Ed? In a state that footaball built? ( except for disney)

That is some cracked out shit and I'd love to know why these programs were selected. Geopgraphy is one other those 'green' field we keep hearing about that is to be the jobs of the future. I guess Fla has no future.

Perhaps they selected those programs to FORCE the legislature to increase the funding, not because they really wanted to cut the programs. Kind of like a game of 'chicken'.

That's evidently what UF is doing: They've got a website of all positions/programs/departments to be cut, and my boss (dept chair at another FL U) thinks it's pretty much scare tactics. Our U Prez seys that our U has done well at socking $ away, but if the legislature cuts 10% or more, there might be layoffs, but he really doesn't think so. So we'll just see.

It's Rasvar's education on the line, and my job... Sucks all around.

My prayers are with all those affected by this. I dont understand their choices...makes no sense. But we are going through it here also. I went to a superintendent advisory committee meeting for the public school the kids go too and heard about cuts that made me want to CRY!. INSANE

I have of admit I regret my language here. However I will leave the post up. I can not say I have been that angry in a long time.

I am really having trouble with the way our education system is being handled. Truthfully, I don't think any stimulus money should have gone to any new road projects. The money needs to go to the education system. We have to do much better in educating at all levels. Especially since there is very little work left in this country for unskilled labor. Florida is one of the worst states. Unfortunately they were bad in the good times. Now they are worse.
