I've been a fan since 2003.
5. How did you first find out about visual kei?
I used to watch some animes and I absolutely loved their theme songs, and some of my friends were really following an increasing VK-trend back in 2002/2003, and I was influenced by it as well. It was all pretty natural, there wasn't a certain time I was like "hey, I'm listening to visual kei bands".
6. Can you explain why you were first drawn to visual kei and why you're still into it now?
I started from music, but as I listened to the bands I searched for their pictures, and the extravagant clothes just caught my attention instantly. I thought it was so different and cool that I just couldn't let it go. I'm probably still into it now because it's something I have been growing up with, and there's always something special to check out.
7. Who was your first visual band? (Bonus points if it's not Dir en grey or Malice Mizer!)
I actually don't remember really well, I started listening to various bands. Must have been X-JAPAN though.
8. Do you dress in a "visual" style?
No. Never will.
9. Do you cosplay, or would you like to cosplay? If so, what band/member?
I'm not a fan of cosplay, so automatically I'd never do one.
10. Do you consider yourself an elitist?
Oh sure, just when people piss me off.

Kagrra,. Also worth mentioning: LUNA SEA, RENTRER EN SOI, Plastic Tree, Janne Da Arc, D, D'espairsRay, シド, kannivalism, post-Ryouhei 彩冷える, Laputa, Shulla and ヴィドール.
2. Favourite overall musician?
Hmm SUGIZO, yasu and Takumi. Sorry, can't choose only one.
3. Favourite vocalist?
Isshi from Kagrra,. Though I think Ryuichi Kawamura is the best.
4. Favourite guitarist?
Definitely SUGIZO.
5. Favourite bassist?
Nao from Kagrra,.
6. Favourite drummer?
Difficult choice, unfortunately I don't give enough attention to drums. But I might choose Shinya from LUNA SEA.
7. Favourite songwriter/lyricist?
Songwriter: INORAN, lyricist: Satsuki.

ROSIER - LUNA SEA

Yume Izuru Chi by Kagrra, such a classic.

Nagoya, Kote and Kurofuku.

Rock. Not exactly genres: alternative, emotional.

Gotta say SPEEDISK. Even though they have nowadays 2 bands or so worth to be listened, they released lots of great bands.

1. Do you like Dir en grey back when they were visual?
Yeah, sure.
2. Do you like Malice Mizer (and which vocalist?)
Absolutely. Gackt's era is my favourite, and even though Le ciel is my favourite song from them, Sadness with Tetsu still moves me.
3. Do you like Mana?
Nothing against him.
4. Do you like Kisaki?
I actually do, that man doesn't stop having faith on VK and he has, well sometimes, a good look for bands. As mentioned by Champ and known by some, if it wasn't for him keep pushing it, VK would probably be dead by now. I have many things against him, that's for sure, but I must admit I also admire him.
5. Do you know who Kenzi is?
Yeah, though I never really listened to his bands.
7. Do you like hide? Do you think he deserves all the hype he gets even now?
I do like him. I don't have a wide knowledge of all his material, but I certainly like him.
8. Do you think X Japan started the visual kei movement?
Oh no.
9. Do you like Kuroyume, Luna Sea, or L'arc~en~ciel?
Like 'em all. LUNA SEA is one of my favourites, L'Arc~en~Ciel is pretty enjoyable and Kuroyume has some great classics, which I love.
10. Do you consider yourself knowledgeable regarding visual kei?
I know some stuff, yep. Used to know a lot back in 2005/2006 regarding minor recent bands, including whole live schedules by a lot of bands, but nowadays it's gone. Still I have a certain knowledge about older VK.

1. Who do you think are the most notable visual bands in the last five years?
the GazettE, Nightmare and alice nine.
2. Are you into older visual kei (90s to late 90s/early 2000) more so than the newer bands?
I tend to listen to newer stuff more, but older VK is my passion.
3. What do you think of the current trends in visual kei?
Not too fond on Oshare neither in the heaviness floating around almost all songs from the recently formed bands.
4. What disbanded band do you miss the most?
Hard one. Besides the classics like LUNA SEA and X-JAPAN, which would be better not coming back to life, I miss Laputa, PIERROT and Shulla the most.
5. What do you think about the massive amount of online popularity that visual kei has been gaining overseas in the last 5 or so years?
It has grown absurdly fast. Back when I started listening to VK bands I'd never imagine being able to see bands touring overseas, nor coming to my country. I'm cool with the idea of japanese music and VK being spread for everyone, it's definitely a great culture to be fond of in my point of view, so it's all good for me. It also turns things easier like buying CDs and meeting people with similar taste as yours, things like this.
6. How do you feel about visual kei CDs and magazines being offered in Hot Topic?
As I said above, it's always good to see CDs being sold easier. I'm not a native from USA, but I'm glad people there have the opportunity.
7. What do you think about females finally being able to make a break in the visual scene?
If they like it, great for them.
8. What do you think about overseas fans vs Japanese fans?
Does that even exist?
9. Would you go to Japan just to see visual bands live?
Of course not, but I admit it'd be the thing I'd like to see the most. I mean, my favourite bands playing live.
10. What do you really dislike about visual kei?
Uninspired bands coming out of nowhere and not having a distinctive thing if compared to the others.
