This is one of the cartoons of Mohammed that was in the Norwegian and Dutch papers that caused rioting and a blatant attack on freedom of the press.

I'm just spreading the First Amendment.

I can't believe how fucking out of hand this has gotten. Humanity can be so self-righteous. Don't tell me we're a brillant race. I swear....

the difference is that a person has all the desire and potential to be smart and sensible, but people as a group are generally dumb fucks and try to kill the unwanted voice of reason....as many great historians have so eloquently put it ( ... )

That's a wonderful passage, I'm keeping it in my mind.

Im sorta in that mood, so I will share a shorter one that I ran into at starbucks earlier. It gave me hope without being to idealistic about it, and for me thats the best kind of hope there is...

"Surely most men are destroyed, but there are others who like pillars of fire guide frightened men through the darkness...It is true that we are weak and sick and quarrelsome, but if that is all we ever were, we would, millenniums ago, have dissappeared from the face of the earth. A few remnants of fossilized jawbone, some broken teeth in strata of limestone, would be the only mark man would have left of his existence in the world. But the choice, Lee, the choice of winning!"

he basically talks about how choice is the real empowerment that man has. The great equalizer to him is not faith or acceptence of destiny, but choice...and with me that rings true

You should give speeches at Redman's house and at high school graduations.

Yes, I admire that this lacks the idealism that too often plagues advice and wisdom. This rings true...while not every human is a moral and great human, there are still those that can lead the way with their example.

I won't, because I don't believe it either.

That's why we have to try to change the world.
