I have a beard and my hair is getting longer. I am doing this for one reason and one reason alone; growing my beard and hair out that is. I've made it my goal to surrender my will to God's will, which I believe the largest part is reaching the lost for Christ. I don't believe in warming a pew every Sunday and going through the motions. Not that going to church is bad. Don't get me wrong. I love going to Sunday worship, and hearing the word preached and fellowship with my Christian family. But James wrote in his epistle, "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does." James 1:22-25. So, in order to fulfill this scripture along with Matthew 28:19-20, aptly known as the Great Commission, I have made the decision to not cut my hair or shave my beard until I lead someone to the Lord and they are saved. I know most of you think this might be extreme but for me it's very close to my heart, as it should be to every Christian around the world. It should be the top of our list of To Do's. Do I recommend not shaving or cutting your hair just like me? No. I realize that some already have long hair and can't shave hair that's not on their face. We all have to find our place in God's plan of wanting people saved. And honestly, I've been horribly inept and lazy at my duties as an Ambassador of Christ. But praise Jesus Christ for His Love and Grace which covers a multitude of sins, removing them as far as the east is from the west! And where does this thriving to reach the lost start? In our very own hearts. We must let God dig the well of love in our hearts deeper. We cannot inhibit God filling our hearts with more love. Even when we think we can't love anymore, we can. With God all things are possible. Like my pastor has said before, "We must love them(the lost) into the Kingdom."

It's time to stretch out our evangelizing legs and get out of our comfortable routines and make seeking the lost and telling them about the Savior of this world our routine. I'm not saying we all must be missionaries but incidentally we all are wherever God has us. Love God and love your neighbor as yourself. Thanks Jesus. Your words always encourage, inspire and move me.
