Lido,Pinoy Henyo and Ze Black Zwan
Things didn't go according to plan yesterday. I was planning to go home straight from work, eat,relax (sit on the sofa and stare into nothingness for about an hour or so until I either a. turn on the computer and play Plants vs. Zombies and tend my Zen Garden or b. decide to scavenge for post new Year food in the fridge) then catch some z's maybe 9:30 or 10:00p.m.
But, I got something better: Karlo was able to meet up me(His interview with Chess champ Wesley So ended early), we ate at this spanking hap chan/savory-like restaurant newly opened in times called Lido then went home afterwards to watch The Black swan.By the way, I violated my first New Year resolution last night. I decided to split the bill and ended up paying 300+. I feel bad spending that much for a meal (sorry folks,my budget for meals from now on is strictly P50).I'm thrifty like that.
We got boneless fish sauteed in Soy Sauce (I think, I'm just typing this as I think it was, Lido rice which was yangchow rice with chorizos and roast pugon asado. We were supposed to get Poached Tofu but they ran out of stock thus the boneless fish. It was surprisingly good and Karlo, being very particular with customer service, was pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the ambiance of the place despite the lack of the bathroom.I got full! And me getting full is like 3 ladies getting full so Kudos to the staff and management of Lido on their dry run!I hope they strike out and open more branches soon. For sure, we'll be coming back again!
COUPLE ACTIVITY
And Yay for us, we found a new activity...While we were riding the trike going home I suggested playing a game called Pinoy Henyo just to test if we had this strong mental connection thing (This was the result of us arguing over dinner which was the better station--GMA or ABS-CBN). Within that 5 minute ride, he wasn't able to guess Halaman,luha and tricycle. My last was John Lloyd Cruz which he only got after we watched the Black Swan. So yun..I'm really pleased we found something we can bond over aside from food and our lambingans. Try it LJ friends, it's fun! if you don't know what it is..What planet are you from? It's only like the greatest game of the century from the longest noontime game show EAT BULAGA!
ZWAN LAKE
Swan lake is breath taking. Natalie Portman is indeed one kick-ass actress. If I didn't know her at all I wouldn't have guessed she wasn't a ballerina. And Mila Kunis was definitely hot. I'm not spoiling anything here. All I have to say is the movie got me intensely thinking. It's like one of those french extremist movies where moms make out with their sons. Really, it will disturb and make the hairs on the back of your neck stand. BUT, I don't want to watch it again any time soon. I got creeped out a bit too much! BUT I recommend it! Maybe you can watch it alone and not with your bahfren. I noticed Karlo was getting restless in the middle of the movie,I think it was still too chick-flickish for him hehe.
