i am not dead, nor am i injured, etc. i've just been rather introspective lately, with things that i don't like putting all over a semi-public blog. sorry for denying you my charming personality. ;-)

it was amusing to me, actually--i am planning a birthday party for myself (still turning 23, i haven't managed to turn back time yet...) and i've been thinking and thinking about invitations, social interactions, friendships, how various groups of acquaintances / friends will get along when they meet, etc. i kept thinking, "oh i'll invite so-and-so..." and realizing that i can't, as some of you are across the country, or even IN other countries. though i read about your daily lives, i can't invite you to my birthday.
i know that all of you keep me going some days, through your photos and funny posts and life accomplishments, and even the negative stuff i read. so i wanted to thank you all for being around for me.

i never thought i'd consider a ton of people i haven't ever met, haven't ever shaken hands with, haven't ever talked on the phone with all night... friends. but i do, really. i wish i could take you all to dinner, or make you a cake, or drive over to your house and hang out. but i can't, so i'm posting this instead.
