5) Australia was always home to John; not Nevada, not Maryland, not America. Australia.
Though maybe - maybe - he could get to think of his dorm room at Xavier's as something close to it.

4) Snapclickclanking his lighter is a habit that started because it made John feel better, having a source of power close by. He kept doing it at Xavier's to see how long it would take to drive his roommate up the wall.

3) John's first kiss was with a boy at a party in fifth grade. He'd only really done it because the girl he'd liked at the time dared him to. In retrospect, though, it hadn't been that bad.

2) John likes Rogue because she's new, and sassy, and - most of all - dangerous. And perhaps that's not as pure an interest as Bobby's, but it's just as legitimate.

1) John doesn't have a crush on Jubilee. He doesn't have a crush on Kitty, or on Jean, or Ororo, or Terry, or Ali, or that girl in the diner, or any of the other girls Bobby seems to be under the impression John likes. He does like Marie, and he thinks that most of the other mutant girls are okay, but that girl at the diner has such an obvious crush on Bobby that John only feels bad for her.
Not that bad, though, because if anything, John has a pretty obvious thing for Bobby himself.
He's just waiting for Bobby to quit being oblivious and notice.
