They're not the same size. They were until last year, when Bobby gained a few inches on him, but now they're not and that's just another one of the things that's changed between them.
But Bobby's still got some of his old things around, and he takes John up to his room - Burn anything and you're dead, Johnny, swear to God. - and lets him dig through the dresser for the least preppy thing Bobby owns.
They dress on opposite sides of the same bed like they're still in their own room, like they're not on the run from those mutant-hating scumbag fucking sapiens, like Rogue and Logan aren't downstairs, like this isn't Bobby's parents' house.
John doesn't let go of his lighter for an instant, and Bobby doesn't reprimand him for the constant snapclickclacking. They're nervous, but the familiarity of John's fidgeting is what calms them both.
